Good Acres Patron Angela Mendoza has shared with us her recipe for nut milk. She says: "I wish so much that I had tried this sooner! It’s the best!!!"
You can use raw cashews or almonds for this recipe.
What you need:
organic raw almonds,
a good blender (I use ninja),
a nut milk bag (Amazon 2/10) and quart or gallon sized pitcher.
How to do it:
Soak 1/2 cup of raw almonds in a cup of water 6 hours or overnight. Pour the water out and rinse the almonds. Put almonds in blender fill with water, blend 3 minutes. Pour the mixture through the strainer into the pitcher. I add 1/4 cup maple syrup and a tablespoon of pure vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and stir. Awesome Almond Milk.
The dairy industry is one of the cruelest. With recipes like this, you contribute to a kinder world! Of course, you can also buy plant-based milks at your local grocery store if you prefer :)
