Charles (at Good Acres from 2009 to July 2015)
Charles was one of the most unique horses we have ever met. His abuse history prior to being rescued was extensive which makes it more of an honor for us to have been able to give him a good and healing home until his very last day. The strawberry roan Tennessee Walker had a very serious comical side to him and always marched to the beat of his own drummer - so to speak. He loved his other horse buddies at the sanctuary but also (pretty much on a daily basis) loved to sneak off to do things on his own. At the time of Charles' passing he was estimated to be around 33 years old. What a blessing he has been in our lives and in so many visitors' lives whose hearts he touched with his sweet and gentle ways. Run free best boy! We will forever miss you.
