Why Mindfulness Matters
Mindfulness matters because you matter, your life matters and how you use your precious time on earth, your life, matters. Mindfulness is being present in the here and now. It has nothing to do with denying the past or never planning for the future. Reflecting backwards and planning ahead are important and useful activities for leading a productive life and realizing as well as executing your God given life purpose.
When we are mindful, we are present in this very moment. We are experiencing all there is and all there ever will be. If you think about it, life is nothing more than a series of present moments yet we are rarely present. Our minds are busy and preoccupied with ruminating thoughts about the past or dreaming and strategizing about a future that may never come. In so doing, we miss out on most of what life has to offer.
Stress related illnesses, poor impulse control, anxiety, depression and other afflictions are promoted and will resist healing until a more grounded calm state of mind has been achieved and becomes the new normal.
Experiencing every moment of life to the fullest with all its richness is an amazing experience money can’t buy. It frees potential in the body and mind like nothing else. For you to execute your divinely given unique life purpose you need clarity. It seems most people do not even have any idea of what their unique life purpose is. How will you find out? How will you ever hear that voice inside telling you exactly what it is if there is constant meaningless chattering self-talk going on inside your head?
