Women’s Recovery Support Group Set to Start – Dec 2nd
After much preparation, we are ready to get the show on the road! We are rolling out our series of addiction recovery support group meetings. As a first phase, we begin with our Women’s Group which will meet every Saturday from 4 – 5 pm. During the cold weather months, we will meet at Panera in Frankfort or another indoor location. Starting in the spring, we will meet at the sanctuary farm which is conveniently located between Frankfort and Lawrenceburg.
The modality used in all our recovery support work is based on that of SMART Recovery, a very successful science-based approach that has been in use for many years. This is not a 12-step program but if you are currently part of any other program, you are welcome to join us in addition to it. Our program is all about helping you move towards self-empowerment which means you take ownership of your recovery and make your own decisions about what works best for you.
The tools and techniques you will learn about, use, and experience throughout our work stem from REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy). That’s a mouthful! You can learn more about it and get more information on our page ‘Addiction Recovery’. Additionally, though not a requirement for attending the support group meetings, we will offer info sessions or orientations. Watch our calendar for upcoming dates.
The meetings are free of charge. However, we do ‘pass the hat’ at the end of the meeting for donations. Even small amounts are appreciated and help greatly.
P.S.: here is an idea, if you have questions, you might like to post them to our facebook page. That way others can see them too and benefit from reading the answers.
See you soon 🙂
