Off to a Good Start
Our sweet new boy ‘Lucky’ and his mom ‘Bridgette’ have settled in wonderfully so far. They are both sweet, loving, and give us kisses each time we go to see them. Needless to say, our friendship with each one of them is off to a great start. What a blessing it is to have them here and know their lives have been saved. We cannot think of a better way to start into a new year
Please enjoy the following impressions of the two taken during their first four days at the sanctuary. They are so relaxed and happy. Do you think they know they have found a loving home with lifetime placement?
Bridgette is a great mom. She enjoys having Lucky to care for. A few months ago when she still lived at a dairy farm, her own baby was taken away from her shortly after birth as is ‘business as usual’ in dairy production. This left her so distressed that she gave up eating and drinking. Her condition rapidly declined and the dairy farm sold her at a discount. A very kind farmer bought her, took her home and introduced her to Lucky who needed a mom as his own had rejected him. A match in heaven was made. Bridgette fell in love with Lucky. Started nursing him and came out of her depression. Subsequently, her condition improved. The kind farmer donated these two beautiful souls to our sanctuary to live their lives out in peace.
Little Lucky is on his way to becoming one handsome big fella when fully grown.
The horses are not exactly sure what to make of this new sanctuary resident. Perhaps she has fallen into our pasture from Mars and should be regarded with utmost suspicion.
